Barossa Bourne

Shiraz

What is Barossa Bourne? -Barossa Bourne has come about from my complete love for what is arguably one of the best wine regions in the world. Wines that speak to a place, a time, the people, the community, the soil, the history, the vineyards, the rolling landscape, the four seasons each year -and the love that goes into growing grapes and making wine. These are the wines I have always chased and now I can show you what it is that makes this region so breathtakingly beautiful. Wines born out of soil, toil, tears and laughter. Wines that enrich the soul. Our wines are born out of a rich tapestry of many individual small family plots, that each bring something beautiful and their own uniqueness to my wines. Open fermented, basket pressed and aged in older oak barrels. Traditional handling so as to let the region and it’s vineyards be seen, smelt and tasted as they should –with very little intervention. Wines with bright and ripe aromas, gentle yet rich tannin profile, subtle oak and a wonderfully long lasting set of flavours. Wines that will age gracefully more more years to come, or simply sit at a table with good food, friends and family -and be a wonderful accompaniment to it all. Bourne to be enjoyed………….

Vineyards: Nine vineyards across the Barossa. Sub Regions: Ebenezer, Kalimna, Eden Valley, Stonewall, Vine Vale

Vinification:  Each vineyard parcel is open fermented with plunging and pumping over twice daily, prior to basket pressing to retain the natural soft tannins.

Maturation: Using only older oak hogsheads to respect the individual parcels and adding layers of subtle background oak.

Tasting Note: Dark purple, black hues with dark berry fruit carrying onto the nose with subtle spicy oak. The palate has soft up front notes of plums and blackcurrant with integrated oak structure . The finish is soft and long. Quintessential Barossa Shiraz that displays elegance, finesse, firm structure and wonderful depth of flavor.
